As a midwife I have lost count of the times I have seen the value of women and their partners taking time to prepare for labour and birth as well as life with a new baby. Pregnancy itself often encourages women to pause and reflect on life with their new baby and antenatal preparation is a wise part of this process.
In our culture we have lost the art of passing on birth wisdom from woman to woman or from one generation to the next. These antenatal sessions offer you the opportunity to discover that this wisdom still exists and how to embrace it.
You may have heard it said that there are no guarantees when it comes to giving birth. To some extent this is true and being open to the possibility of receiving help should you or your baby need it is a wise thing but so is understanding that the process of birth itself is a trustworthy one that has stood the test of time.
